This role is based in an Open Pit Mine in Sudbury, ON, and is responsible for overseeing daily operations to ensure safety, productivity, and efficiency. The Production Supervisor will coordinate open pit activities while fostering teamwork, compliance, and a respectful work environment.

About the Role
As a Production Supervisor, you will play a critical role in the safe and efficient operation of the open pit.
- Leading and supervising pit activities, including loading, hauling, and dumping.
- Ensuring employee health and safety by enforcing compliance with mine regulations, company policies, and OHSA requirements.
- Monitoring pit operations to identify and correct unsafe practices, while maintaining accurate safety and production records.
- Conducting daily pre-shift meetings to keep employees informed of safety, production goals, and work assignments.
- Preparing reports on incidents or accidents that occur during your shift and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Providing clear job-specific instructions, monitoring progress, and offering feedback throughout the shift.
- Organizing and supporting training initiatives to improve equipment operator competencies.
- Collaborating with Project Managers, Technical Services, Maintenance, and Union representatives to align on priorities and resolve issues.
- Participating in weekly planning meetings, identifying potential shortfalls, and contributing solutions to keep operations on track.
- Promoting company values by fostering a safe, respectful, and team-oriented work environment.
- Supporting compliance with all company policies, the Code of Conduct, and the Healthy, Safe, and Respectful Workplace policy.
What You Need
- Completion of Surface Common Core and Generic First Line Supervisor Common Core.
- 3–5 years of experience as a supervisor in an open pit mining environment.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage in a unionized workplace.
- In-depth knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to lead meetings and handle challenging conversations.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle.
- Authorization to work lawfully in Canada without sponsorship from the company.
- PPE Required : Hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, boots, Class 3 pants and top.
