Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Production Planner to join the Power Bus Way Team in Mississauga, ON.

The production planner will manage all the production resources to meet or exceed delivery deadlines and drive efficiencies. This person will be detail‑oriented and experienced, creating, modifying, and managing production schedules. Responsibilities include monitoring inventory levels, regularly providing production status updates to management, and facilitating the timely delivery of products to customers. They should also closely monitor the production process to ensure that production orders are completed on time and within budget.

To be successful, the production planner must be knowledgeable about material requirements planning and able to manage production deadlines. An exceptional planner will demonstrate excellent time‑management, organizational, and problem‑solving skills to ensure that production operations run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise between project management and production supervisors to establish accurate lead times for released projects
  • Establish, monitor, and improve throughput capacities on a weekly basis
  • Recommend viable solutions to reduce production costs and improve production processes and product quality
  • Estimate the amount of material, equipment, and labor required for production
  • Promptly address and resolve production issues to minimize delays
  • Coordinate production operations in accordance with material, labor, and equipment availability
  • Effect changes to production schedules to ensure that production deadlines are met
  • Promptly inform the relevant departments of changes to current production schedules
  • Perform other duties as required
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business management, or a related field is preferred or relevant experience
  • Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) accreditation or other relevant certification is advantageous
  • Proven experience working as a production planner
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications
  • Sound knowledge of material requirements planning (MRP) and related software
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Excellent organizational and time‑management skills
  • Effective communication skills
