Overview

CGC Inc. is a leading marketer, manufacturer and distributor of gypsum wallboard products, interior finishing material and suspended acoustical ceilings. With locations around the world, CGC and USG have the resources, plants, products and people to build walls, ceilings and careers.

CGC Inc. is currently recruiting for a Board Production Operator (3 Line) for our gypsum plant, based in Hagersville, Ontario.

It's a permanent and full-time position, offering a challenging opportunity for a motivated individual to demonstrate their skills and abilities in a manufacturing operation within a large corporation.

Responsibilities
  • Under the guidance of the Board Foreman, the Board Production Operator (3 Line) conducts the daily operations of Board Line.
  • Maintaining production levels, participating in a team environment and working in a manufacturing environment in the safest, most efficient and profitable manner as possible.
  • The successful candidate will go through Common Core training and be trained through the operator rate program. Board production employees may train as a Paperwell Operator, Mixer Operator, Knife Operator, and Take Off Operator.
  • Assisting in the implementation of USG Model Programs, Safety Rules, VWIs/JSAs and Standard Operating Procedures, as required.
  • Exercise personal safety, promote and enforce safety among crew members.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma
  • Experience in a manufacturing/mining environment preferred
  • Demonstrates problem-solving skills and the ability to work as a team
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must be a people and results-oriented individual who incorporates and emphasizes safety and quality in all aspects of the daily work environment
Additional Information
  • Hours: rotating continental shifts - 2 days on/2 days off, except weekends when it's 3 days in a row. 2 weeks on day shift/2 weeks on overnight shift.
  • Pay: $29.89/hr CAD
