Job summary

The Coca-Cola Limited in Peterborough, Ontario is seeking a Production Operator to operate, troubleshoot, clean, maintain and optimize dairy processing and packaging equipment. The role requires strict adherence to operating parameters, monitoring performance, and reducing losses.

Production staff will follow a rotating continental schedule and participate in safety, sanitation and QA activities, with cross‑training across departments as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• 2–4 years of manufacturing experience.
• Proficient with computers to input manufacturing data.
• Must be able to travel outside Canada and hold a valid passport.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor processing and packaging equipment across production systems, including setup, changeovers, CIP systems, fillers, heat treatment, batching/blending.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues by analyzing machine reports, logs, results, and diagnostics to identify root causes and fix promptly.
• Perform operator-level preventive maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, disassembly/reassembly, and assist techs with maintenance.
• Conduct quality testing using lab instruments and maintain production, sanitation, and quality docs.
• Execute and document CIP procedures and plant sanitation tasks following GMP standards.
• Maintain safe, clean work areas and report safety concerns promptly.
• Safely operate forklifts and move materials to support production.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and improve efficiency.
• Train and support team members on procedures, safety, and equipment.
• Be flexible to take on additional duties as required.

Job Description: Production Operator

The role of the Production Operator will be part of our Fairlife dairy production plant in Peterborough, Ontario and will be required to effectively operate, troubleshoot, clean, maintain and optimize manufacturing equipment within processing and packaging operations.

The Production Operator plays a key role in the identification of performance issues and actively contributes to the resolution of problems and the continuous improvement of the plant performance. This is accomplished through strict adherence to prescribed equipment operating parameters, closely monitoring the performance of the process equipment, and taking action to reduce occurrences of both efficiency and/or material losses.

Production staff will be required to work a rotating continental schedule.

Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor processing and packaging equipment across production systems, including setup, changeovers, CIP systems, fillers, heat treatment, batching/blending, and related machinery while following sequence of operations.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues by analyzing machine reports, alarm logs, test results, and system diagnostics to identify root causes and implement corrective actions efficiently.
• Perform operator-level preventive maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, disassembly/reassembly, and assist maintenance technicians with corrective and preventive maintenance activities.
• Conduct quality assurance and compositional testing using laboratory instrumentation and maintain accurate production, sanitation, and quality documentation.
• Execute and document Clean-In-Place (CIP) procedures, plant sanitation tasks, and detailed hygiene activities in compliance with corporate sanitation standards and GMP requirements.
• Maintain safe, clean, and organized work areas while adhering to safety policies, SOPs, MSDS, and Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures; promptly report or correct safety concerns.
• Safely operate forklifts and handle material movement to support continuous production operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve operational issues, improve production efficiency, and recommend corrective actions for identified deficiencies.
• Train and support other team members on operational procedures, safety practices, and equipment functions as assigned.
• Maintain flexibility to perform additional duties and operational support tasks as required by management.

Education Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent required.

Related Work Experience

• 2 – 4 years’ experience in manufacturing.

Functional

• Proficient in the use of computers to input manufacturing data.
• Ability to bend, lift and/or twist.
• Ability to work on multiple levels, such as catwalks, ladders, etc. and ability to work in extreme temperatures.
• Manual and finger dexterity.
• Ability to grip, grasp, and squeeze materials, parts, hand tools, and products.
• Ability to lift, push and/or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Standing and walking for continuous periods, including 8-hour, 10-hour or 12-hour shifts or required necessary hours.
• Ability to work 8-hour, 10-hour or 12-hour shifts or required necessary hours to meet the business requirements.
• Forklift Certified or ability to become certified in a reasonable timeframe.
• Must have the ability and willingness to cross train in other departments.
• Ability to travel outside of Canada and possess a valid passport.
• Perform all tasks in a safe manner while ensuring achievement of Quality, Service and Cost objectives.
• Ability to trouble-shoot production-related problems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work efficiently under challenging situations.
• Ability to participate in job development training (i.e. troubleshooting, etc.).
• Ability to work in a team environment.
