Job summary

Pillar5 Pharma Inc. is seeking a Packaging Production Mechanic in Ontario to set up, modify, operate, troubleshoot, and repair packaging machinery. You will perform routine maintenance, optimize systems, and document activities to support continuous production.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, uphold GMP standards, and participate in equipment installation and calibration. The role may require all shifts and is based in our Arnprior facility.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 diploma required; millwright certification preferred.
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal abilities; able to organize and multitask.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical equipment and systems.
• Maintain and optimize machinery, including component fabrication and equipment testing.
• Detect equipment irregularities, identify root causes, and implement preventative and corrective actions to reduce downtime.
• Conduct and document scheduled preventive maintenance using condition monitoring tools.
• Assist in equipment installation, commissioning, modification, and calibration.
• Complete maintenance logs, testing records, and compliance documentation.
• Communicate with colleagues, packagers, clients, and managers to coordinate activities and report issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address facility-related concerns and optimize processes.
• Work independently on complex issues using sound judgment and appropriate methods and tools for resolution.
• Adhere to Health and Safety Regulations for a safe work environment.
• Update spreadsheets for parts on all equipment.
• Repair or replace malfunctioning components such as motors, gears, belts, etc.
• Assist in initial setup of production jobs or adjustments when required.
• Work toward continuous improvement of machinery and follow LOTO procedures when working with energized machines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Grade 12 diploma, post-secondary education with millwright certification is preferred
• Minimum of 3 years progressive experience in a production environment preferably inapackagingenvironment
• Excellent teamwork, organizational and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Understanding of GMP’s and SOP’s
• Understanding of Lean and Six Sigma concepts is an asset
• Ability to work all shifts

Compensation:

• Starting at $25.93/hr
