Job summary

Prysmian in Prescott, Ontario is seeking a Production Operator to operate equipment across the cable manufacturing process in a safety‑driven environment. The role requires adherence to quality standards and a 12‑hour rotating shift pattern, offering a competitive $24.50/hour pay rate.

Responsibilities include inventory labeling, maintaining a clean workspace, and supporting special projects. A high school diploma is required; ISO 9000 experience is a plus for this manufacturing team.

Qualifications

  • Completion of high school.
  • Ability to stand/walk for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • ISO 9000–based manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • 3 years of experience with production machinery is asset.

Responsibilities

  • Labels and tracks inventory to ensure accuracy.
  • Keeps the workspace clean and organized for efficient processes and quality products.
  • Handles special projects in manufacturing as needed.
  • Packages finished parts according to approved methods and standards.
  • Adheres to Health, Safety and Integrated Management System policies and current legislation.
  • Maintains quality records, completes inspections, and prepares Certificates of Quality.

Position Summary:

Production Operators are responsible for following instructions and established safety requirements to operate equipment used in various stages of the cable manufacturing process. Operators must be able to meet productivity requirements and create products that conform to quality standards.

Salary:

$24.50/hour

Responsibilities:
  • Ensures inventory accuracy by labeling and tracking material discrepancies.
  • Keeps the workplace clean and organized to ensure efficient processes and defect-free products.
  • Handles special projects in the manufacturing areas as needed.
  • Packages finished parts according to approved methods and standards.
  • Health, Safety, and Integrated Management System: Maintains a safe and healthy environment by adhering to company Health & Safety policies, complies with current legislation.
  • Reports & Administration & Other Related Duties: Maintains quality records in compliance with established standards, completes final inspection, inventory accuracy, and productivity reports, and prepares Certificates of Quality as required.
  • Team Effort: Collaborates with team members to support efforts, achieve team goals, and continuously improve processes and products.
Knowledge and skill requirements
  • This role requires frequent walking, standing, squatting, and reaching.
  • You must be able to lift, push, pull and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Completion of high school.
  • 3 years of experience in production processes using complex machinery is considered an asset.
  • Proven experience in inspection and testing within an ISO 9000-accredited manufacturing company.
