Job summary

A prominent steel company in Langley is seeking a skilled Lead Hand/Operator to oversee the afternoon shift. Responsibilities include leading the team, operating machinery, and ensuring quality standards are met. We are actively looking for a Lead Hand/Operator to join our Afternoon team. Located in North Langley, our operations are central to the Fraser Valley and Vancouver.

Shift: Monday to Friday 1:45pm - 9:45pm with OT as required

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and safely lead the afternoon shift ensuring targets for the day and week are met.
  • Operate various machines (after training) including overhead cranes, forklift, rebar shear, rebar bender, and auto benders
  • Daily reporting of shift performance to the Production Supervisor
  • Assist process control and machine operators in performing their duties as needed
  • Ensure all company QC and QA processes are met or exceeded
  • Ensure a clean work area and all equipment used by operators
  • Provide leadership on shift to address any safety concerns and ensure that the site is secured at the end of the shift
  • Communicate with the maintenance dept should breakdowns occur on shift
  • Any additional duties as assigned

  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent
  • Approved safety footwear is required
  • Experience in the construction industry is considered an asset
