Job summary

TAQA North in Calgary is seeking a Production Accounting Business Support Summer Student for May–August 2027. You will work with the Production & Revenue Accounting team and report to the Supervisor, Production Accounting Business Support, assisting with the preparation of financial reports.

This four‑month term is based in our Calgary office, five days per week, and includes duties such as reviewing cash receipts, royalty payments, Land Change Notices, and updating Royalty Owner Accounts.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate Finance or Accounting program.
• Must be returning to full-time studies after the work term.
• Available to work full-time in Calgary for the 4-month term.

Responsibilities

• Review and book cash receipts for Royalty Income assets.
• Review royalty payments and book in Excel or Energylink.
• Review and process Land Change Notices (LCN’s).
• Review Stale Date Report and update Royalty Owner Accounts.
• Book Revenue Cash Receipts before close 1.
• Manage the Purchaser Statements and follow up as required—during month end.
• Ensure all Revenue and Royalty Entries are booked and posted by close 1.
• Royalty Offset Booking – after close 1.
• Print Statements and mail out cheques and EFTs as required.
• Crown Royalties booking and reconciliation (BC, SK, AB).
• Testing new release for PA software.

We are searching for an eager Production Accounting Business Support Summer Student. You will work with the Production & Revenue Accounting team and you will report to the Supervisor, Production Accounting Business Support. You will assist and support the preparation of financial reports to ensure accurate and timely accounting of income.

This is a summer student position based out of Calgary, working from our office 5 days per week. This position is full-time from May to August 2027.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and book cash receipts for Royalty Income assets
• Review royalty payments and book in Excel or Energylink
• Review and process Land Change Notices (LCN’s)
• Review Stale Date Report and update Royalty Owner Accounts
• Book Revenue Cash Receipts before close 1.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Prior internship, co-op, volunteer, customer service, or relevant work experience is considered an asset
• Experience working on academic, extracurricular, or community projects demonstrating leadership, teamwork, and initiative is considered an asset

Minimum Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate bachelor’s degree program, preferably in Finance, Accounting or a related degree program
• Must be returning to full-time studies upon completion of the work term
• Must attach your most recent unofficial or official transcript with your application to be considered
• Available to work full-time in our Calgary office for the duration of the 4-month work term
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
• The successful candidate will be required to provide satisfactory references and pass a criminal background check
