A leading engineering services provider in Ontario is seeking a Product Verification Engineer. This role focuses on ensuring quality and functionality of optical and networking products through both manual and automated tests. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience in software verification, along with skills in C#, Python, and networking protocols. This is a contract to hire position with a pay range of $40.00 - $60.00 per hour and requires onsite work with occasional flexibility for remote work.

Job description

Job Title: Product Verification Engineer

As a Product Verification Engineer with a focus on optical and networking products, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of optical products with significant software components. This role involves both pre-release and post-release testing, debugging, and validation. You will work closely with software, hardware, and optical design teams, as well as customers, to ensure product quality and resolve issues.

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements and create and maintain test cases and test plans.
• Develop and augment automation scripts using C# and Python.
• Execute manual and automated tests, including regression and sanity runs.
• Identify and resolve issues found internally or by customers, collaborating with designers to determine root causes.
• Support continuous integration and regression testing infrastructure.
• Participate in maintenance and post-release support as needed.

Essential Skills

• Minimum 3 years of experience in embedded product / software verification or validation.
• Proficiency in C# with some familiarity in Python scripting.
• Solid understanding of networking protocols such as LLDP, LAG, ZTP, ECMP, OpenConfig, GNMI, GNOI, Netconf, and SNMP.
• Experience with security protocols like secure boot, ZTP security, and bootzi.
• Familiarity with test automation frameworks and methodologies.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with northbound interfaces such as GNMI and GNOI.
• Exposure to security testing in embedded / networked products.
• Hands‑on troubleshooting, debugging, and a proactive problem‑solving mindset.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently and within a team.

Work Environment

This is an onsite role with some flexibility for occasional remote work.
