Job summary

TÜV SÜD America, Inc. is seeking an Electrical/Electronics Engineering student to assist in testing, inspection, and documentation within a laboratory setting at our Gormley, Canada site.

The role emphasizes accurate data collection, reporting, and adherence to safety and testing standards. Opportunity to gain hands-on experience with global leader in product safety, with onsite work and flexible arrangements where applicable.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an Electrical/Electronics Engineering program.
  • Ability to apply and understand basic electrical concepts.
  • Observant and attentive to detail.
  • Proficient with MS Windows and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Able to stay focused and professional in a fast-paced environment.
  • Available to work overtime hours as required.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, photograph, and document products for testing and assessment to regulations.
  • Perform and monitor product testing/assessments to applicable requirements.
  • Collect and document test data in accordance with test procedures.
  • Prepare accurate Test Reports and Technical Reports.
  • Ensure project timelines are adhered to by completing work within the allocated time.
  • Update supervisors with ongoing project status daily.
  • Communicate promptly and effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Operate and troubleshoot test equipment.
  • Validate equipment calibrations and ensure calibration status.
  • Report any equipment or test sample damage to supervisor.
  • Complete daily time sheets.
  • Adhere to TÜV SÜD policies and procedures.

Your Tasks
  • Inspect, photograph, and document products for testing and assessment to international, national, and custom regulations.
  • Perform and monitor product testing/assessments to applicable requirements.
  • Collect and document test data in accordance with applicable test procedures and requirements (e.g., Test Data Sheets, graphical information).
  • Prepare accurate Test Reports, Test Incident Reports, and/or Technical Reports to the appropriate standards and procedures.
  • Ensure project timelines are adhered to by completing work within the allocated time.
  • Update supervisors with ongoing project status daily.
  • Communicate promptly and effectively, both in writing and verbally, with internal and external customers.
  • Operate and troubleshoot test equipment.
  • Validate equipment calibrations and ensure equipment is in calibration for the entire period used for testing.
  • Report all equipment and test sample damage to the supervisor immediately.
  • Complete daily time sheets.
  • Adhere to all TÜV SÜD policies and procedures.
