Job summary

Ovivo is seeking a Product Manager based in Alberta, Canada (Edmonton/Spruce Grove preferred; Calgary or Grand Prairie considered) to lead the Industrial equipment portfolio. You will collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Projects, and field teams to drive standardization, operability, and differentiated offerings.

The role requires 5+ years in design engineering, a P.Eng designation, and a strong background in water/wastewater systems.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years' experience in design engineering and product development.
  • Understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes and systems.
  • Post-secondary engineering degree with preference given to Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, and Civil disciplines.
  • Active Professional Engineering (P.Eng) designation.
  • Ability to apply and explain advanced technical principles in the water and wastewater industry.
  • Understanding of Environmental Regulation related to water and wastewater treatment and discharge.
  • Fluency in Autodesk and Microsoft Office Suite; ability to utilize modeling applications as necessary.
  • Understanding of safety legislation and worksite requirements with a proven track record of safety excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Design and iterate packaged / containerized water treatment systems including technology selection and system integration.
  • Oversee engineering design across process, mechanical, electrical, automation, drafting, and building/containerization.
  • Facilitate technical reviews and develop detailed documentation packages.
  • Develop detailed costing matrices and support CapEx planning for equipment investments.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Applications Engineering, Project Management, Procurement, Operations, and Technical Services.
  • Oversee all aspects of product build cycles including design, fabrication, QC, commissioning and startup.
  • Coordinate with other Ovivo product managers to integrate technologies into Industrial systems.
  • Solicit feedback from clients and field teams to stay current with market needs and advance design.
  • Focus on innovation and development of new product offerings.
  • Support Sales activities in determining suitability of equipment and developing proposals; attend trade shows and presentations.
  • Work with teams across North America and International offices across time zones.
  • Participate in planning, forecasting, reporting, and reconciliation of group costs and revenues.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Operations Director, the Product Manager will be responsible for development of equipment best suited to Ovivo industrial applications and pursue ongoing innovations through engineered design and applied experience. The Product Manager will lead design and implementation of the Industrial equipment portfolio, liaising with sales, clients, and field operations in pursuit of constant improvement, standardization, operability, and development of differentiated offerings.

Based in Alberta, Canada, the Product Manager will develop a high level of expertise and serve as the primary technical point of contact for the Ovivo Industrial product line. The preferred location is Edmonton / Spruce Grove, but we can also consider candidates who can be based in Calgary or Grand Prairie.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Manage design and ongoing iterations of packaged / containerized modular water and wastewater treatment systems including selection of technology and overall system integration
  • Oversee all aspects of engineered equipment design and standardization including but not limited to process, mechanical, electrical, automation, instrumentation, drafting, and building / containerization
  • Facilitate technical reviews and development of detailed documentation packages
  • Develop detailed costing matrixes and support development of equipment and innovation CapEx plans, ensuring best value is realized in equipment investments
  • Work closely with Sales, Applications Engineering, Project Management, Procurement, Operations, and Technical Services in execution and deployment of equipment
  • Oversee all aspects of product build cycles including design, fabrication, quality control, commissioning, and startup
  • Liaise with various Ovivo product managers to integrate Ovivo technologies and expertise into Industrial systems
  • Solicit feedback from clients, field technicians, operations, and sales to stay current in market needs and continuously advance design
  • Focus on innovation and development of new product offerings
  • Support Sales activities in determining suitability of equipment to various applications, developing proposals, and participating in technical discussions with clients, as well as attending sales related activities such as trade shows and presentations
  • Work with a team in multiple offices and time zones both in North America and Internationally
  • Participate in routine financial tasks including planning, forecasting, reporting, and reconciliation of group costs and revenues
Qualifications & Experience
  • 5+ years' experience in design engineering and product development
  • Demonstrated understanding of water and wastewater treatment process, equipment and systems including all mechanical, electrical, and programming aspects
  • Post-secondary degree in Engineering with preference given to Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, and Civil disciplines
  • Active Professional Engineering (P.Eng) designation
  • Ability to apply and explain advanced technical principles in the water and wastewater industry
  • Understanding of Environmental Regulation related to water and wastewater treatment and discharge

Location: Based in Alberta, Canada.

Work Environment and Travel

Office based with some travel required to Ovivo offices throughout Canada and the US, as well as client sites where equipment is deployed.
