Description

This is a temporary 1 year long assignment. LOA Maternity leave - 12 months starting in Jan. 2026. Onsite/ Remote Hybrid - Hybrid (mostly remote).

The Product Investigations Engineer - Canada Vehicle Safety will lead and manage the development of responses to defect and compliance inquiries, primarily from Transport Canada. The engineer also works with other sources such as Customer Care, Technical Service and external third parties to identify emerging trends. The Engineer will work as needed with other Canadian team members to assist with campaign administration and product analysis, ensuring adherence to all regulatory and internal reporting obligations.

Position includes significant interface with external groups including Transport Canada, as well as internal cross-functional teams including Investigation teams, Product Development, Office of the General Counsel, Technical Service Operations, and Customer Care.

Requirements
  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical Engineering, or other technical degree (i.e. biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering technology, etc.) from an ABET accredited university.
  • Minimum THREE (3) years of experience in cross-functional roles with increasing responsibility, experience in Vehicle Safety, Federal Regulations, Product Development, or Customer Experience is an asset.
  • Must be able to handle multiple assignments and meet aggressive deadlines while maintaining zero tolerance for mistakes.
  • Working knowledge of multiple automotive systems.
  • Superior communication skills required with the ability to clearly communicate in written and verbal forms to internal and external agencies.
  • Ability to breakdown complex issues.
  • High level of accountability.
  • Must have passion for excellence and drive to deliver in the face of obstacles and time constraints.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.
Preferred Requirements
  • Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a combined ME and EE degree from ABET accredited university.
Additional Information

Must be able to handle multiple assignments and meet aggressive deadlines while maintaining zero tolerance for mistakes.

Working knowledge of multiple automotive systems.

Superior communication skills required with the ability to clearly communicate in written and verbal forms to internal and external agencies.

  • Occasional travel to the US for meetings - (occasional meaning 1 to 2 times per month).
  • IN person meetings may also be held at in Windsor.
