Job summary

Nexans is seeking a Product Design Engineer to join the Central Engineering group in Canada. You will develop and improve cable products, lead development initiatives, and build expertise in CableBuilder and SAP within the first year.

You will design to industry standards, coordinate with sales and manufacturing, manage projects, and travel as needed. The role requires an engineering degree and about five years in the wire and cable industry.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree.
• 5 years of experience in the Wire and Cable industry with processing and product standards knowledge.
• Strong interpersonal skills to coordinate the customer, sales and manufacturing groups.
• Detail oriented with documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop a high level of expertise in CableBuilder and SAP within the first year.
• Design and modify cable designs in accordance to industry standards.
• Lead product development initiatives and redesign to cost.
• Manage capital projects at manufacturing sites; some travel may be necessary.
• Provide support to Sales and manufacturing with processing and quality issues.
