Job summary

Independent Grocers Alliance in Beloeil, QC, is seeking a tasting clerk to present products and promote sales during day and evening shifts. You will ensure product quality and manage logistics for in-store demos, with hours between 10 and 15 per week.

No degree is required; training courses help you develop skills and advance within the company while you gain experience interacting with customers.

Qualifications

• No degree required if you love to share your taste for good food and have experience with the public.
• Strong interest in food and ability to engage customers during tastings.
• Willingness to learn and participate in in-store training.

Responsibilities

• Present products in a courteous, professional manner to promote sales and profits.
• Ensure product presentation quality (temperature, quantity, etc.).
• Place the demonstration kiosk in a busy, accessible area of the store.
• Plan and manage logistics for demonstrations (supplies, stove, meals, rest periods).

What would a typical day look like?

As a tasting clerk, you will have to :

• present various products in a courteous and professional manner to promote and increase product sales and profits;
• ensure the total quality of the product presented (temperature, adequate quantity, etc.);
• ensure that the demonstration kiosk is strategically located in the sales area of the supermarket (busy area, proximity to the product being tasted, etc.);
• adequately plan the complete logistics necessary for the smooth operation of the demonstration (supplies, stove, meal period, rest period, etc.)
