Job summary

Kabam is seeking a Producer 2 for our Downtown Vancouver studio to own the project roadmap and release schedule, ensuring on-time, high-quality delivery within budget. This is a full-time, on-site role five days a week.

You will mentor Producers, track risks, resolve conflicts across staffing, technology, and design, and collaborate with stakeholders to define KPIs for live-service workflows.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or PM certification with Agile focus.
  • 5+ years in project management in entertainment/software.
  • 2+ years in a leadership role with people management.
  • Experience setting up Jira and resource management tools.
  • Deep understanding of games-as-a-service and live ops cadences.
  • Direct experience leading all major game phases (concept to live).
  • Effective communication to influence outcomes across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Custodian of the Project Roadmap and Release Schedule; mentor other Producers on schedule management.
  • Identify and mitigate risks and dependencies early.
  • Resolve schedule, staffing, tech, and design conflicts across a project.
  • Own budget and resource strategy execution.
  • Design workflows and approval steps aligned to development rhythms.
  • Interface with stakeholders to manage scope and quality.
  • Establish KPIs to measure phase success in live-service contexts.
  • Present at Business Reviews and Phase Gate reviews.
  • Mentor junior Producers and support career development.
  • Ensure team capacity and health across the project.

The Producer 2 is the custodian of the project roadmap and release schedule for a development project, responsible for moving the development team from one project phase to the next while ensuring a strong focus on quality, collaboration, and communication. They partner with key stakeholders to ensure the project is managed on time, to quality, and within budget, while also mentoring and advising project-assigned Producers on schedule management across agile and live service workflows.

This role is a full-time, on-site position based 5 days a week at our Downtown Vancouver studio.

In this role, you can expect to:
Key Accountabilities:
  • Custodian of the Project Roadmap and Release Schedule; mentors and advises project-assigned Producers on schedule management tactics within development cadences.
  • Spots risks and dependencies well in advance; actively tracks and mitigates them within the project or shared function.
  • Proactively identifies and resolves conflicts between schedule, staffing, technology, and design objectives across a single project.
  • Owns the execution of budget and resource strategy.
  • Designs functional workflows and approval steps tailored to development rhythms.
  • Interfaces with key stakeholders and team leads to manage scope and quality.
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders to establish KPIs by which to measure phase success in a live-service context.
  • Presenter at Business Review and Phase Gate reviews.
  • Mentors more junior Producers, supporting their growth and career development.
  • Accountable for project team capacity and health.
Leadership:
  • Supports skill development for others; inspires teamwork; creates and sustains a positive work environment.
  • Sets the tone for positive team culture and contributes to a healthy, collaborative, and high-performance environment.
To be successful in this role, your background includes:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or certification in project management with a focus on Agile methodologies.
  • 5+ years of project management experience in entertainment and/or software development.
  • 2+ years in a leadership role with people management experience.
  • Experience setting up and running Jira and resource management tools.
  • Deep understanding of games-as-a-service business model and live ops cadences.
  • Direct experience leading all major game phases (concept, pre-production, production, live operations).
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to influence outcomes across all levels of the organization.
