Job summary

METRO in Timmins is seeking a Produce Clerk to join our team. The role focuses on keeping the produce section fresh, well-stocked, and attractively displayed; you will help customers find items and share knowledge about fresh fruits and vegetables.

This is a part-time, permanent position with union wage starting at 16.60 CAD per hour. Responsibilities include receiving shipments, rotating stock, labeling, pricing, and maintaining food safety standards.

Qualifications

• Stock merchandise and create displays.
• Good product knowledge and attention to detail.
• Able to lift 30 to 50 pounds.
• Retail experience is an asset.
• Able to stand for extended periods.
• Flexible shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Unload shipments and stock backroom.
• Stock shelves and rotate items for freshness.
• Create displays and ensure signage.
• Assist customers and answer inquiries.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the produce area.
• Monitor inventory and report low stock.
