Strategic Procurement Specialist

Ottawa, ON Canada

We’re seeking a Strategic Procurement Specialist to manage and coordinate end-to-end procurement operations. This role oversees supplier relationships, purchasing activities, and cost optimization to ensure timely and high-quality acquisition of goods and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the full procurement cycle from requisition to delivery
  • Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers
  • Review and approve purchase orders; ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Finance, Production, Quality)
  • Monitor supplier performance and support quality assurance
  • Generate reports on costs, KPIs, and vendor evaluations
Requirements
  • At least 2 years of Supply Chain Management
  • Associates or Certification in Business or Supply Chain Management preferred
  • Experience sourcing industrial components (electrical, mechanical, control systems, PCBs)
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, negotiation techniques, and supply chain management
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and sometimes under tight deadlines
  • Ability to problem solve procurement issues and come up with effective solutions to meet deadlines needed
  • Proficiency in using software and data entry
Work Environment & Conditions
  • Onsite-based role with periodic travel to supplier sites and industry events
  • Primarily on-site at the manufacturing facility; may require occasional visits to vendors or shipping partners
