Job summary

Lycopodium Limited is recruiting a Procurement Officer in Vancouver, BC to support the Project Services Group with procurement, expediting, cost control and transport logistics. Reporting to the Procurement and Contracts Manager, you will engage with clients, suppliers and freight personnel to ensure top-notch service levels and compliance with company procedures.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in mining or construction procurement domains, strong communication, ethics and self-motivation, and

Qualifications

  • 2+ years in purchasing, expediting, transport and logistics in mining, minerals, engineering or construction.
  • Projects experience with procurement, purchasing, expediting, cost control and logistics knowledge.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High degree of professional ethics.
  • Self-motivated and able to work without supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Manage dealings with clients, suppliers and freight personnel professionally and efficiently.
  • Communicate openly with internal customers to ensure high service levels.
  • Adhere to project procedures and company protocols for efficient operation.
  • Handle expediting functions as directed by the Procurement/Contracts Manager or Project Manager.
  • Oversee logistics functions per direction from the Procurement/Contracts Manager or Project Manager.
  • Ensure purchasing processes follow documented procedures.
  • Assigned on a project basis per company policies.

Lycopodium is currently recruiting for a Procurement Officer to join our growing team in Vancouver, BC.

Reporting to the Procurement and Contracts Manager the Procurement Officer is to provide support to the Project Services Group (PSG) or a specific project, in the areas of procurement, purchasing, expediting, cost control, and transport and logistics.

The tasks you'll perform
  • Perform all dealings with clients, suppliers, manufacturers and freight company personnel professionally, ethically and efficiently, to ensure the highest possible service levels.
  • Communicate openly, professionally, ethically and efficiently at all times with all internal customers to ensure that the highest customer service level is achieved.
  • Adhere to the various project specific and company procedures, work practices, plans, systems and protocols required to work efficiently, and maintain a consistent approach and high standard of work.
  • Responsible and accountable for all expediting functions as directed by the Procurement & Contracts Manager and/or Project Manager.
  • Responsible and accountable for all logistics functions as directed by the Procurement & Contracts Manager and/or Project Manager.
  • Ensure all assigned purchasing processes are followed strictly in accordance with documented and authorised company procedures.
  • To be assigned on a Project specific basis, and in accordance with Company policies and guidelines.
The expertise you'll bring
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in purchasing, expediting, transport and logistics disciplines in mining, minerals, engineering, or construction industries.
  • Projects experience with demonstratable procurement, purchasing, expediting, cost control, and transport and logistics knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills, written, electronic and verbal.
  • High degree of professional ethics.
  • Initiative, self-motivation and the ability to work without supervision.

The expected salary range for this role is $65,000 to $80,000.This range is based on the role’s job family andlevel and reflects a good faith estimate for the role at the time of posting.Your final offer will depend on factorssuch as market conditions, internal equity and candidateexperience,skills,andqualifications relevant to the role.We believe in fair,competitivepay that reflects the valueyoubring to the team.
