Job description

Petal is a leading Canadian healthcare orchestration and billing company that revolutionizes healthcare systems to make them agile, efficient, and resilient by enabling the forecasting and shaping of world-class healthcare through Healthcare BI, advanced analytics, and informed insights.

Our commitment to fostering an exceptional workplace culture has earned us notable recognitions, including being listed as a Great Place to Work in both the technology and healthcare sectors. Join us in our mission to empower healthcare innovators and improve healthcare differently.

Your daily life
  • Lead end-to-end procurement activities, including vendor selection, pricing negotiations, and contract renewals;
  • Partner with Finance, Legal, IT, and Security to align vendor agreements with budget, compliance, and risk standards;
  • Establish and maintain a centralized repository of vendor contracts, terms, and renewal dates;
  • Implement scalable, business-friendly procurement processes and tools (e.g., approval flows, spend management systems);
  • Drive continuous improvement in vendor terms, service levels, and cost optimization;
  • Advise and support budget owners in vendor evaluation and sourcing to maximize ROI;
  • Act as a trusted advisor and change agent to business teams on procurement best practices.
Your profile

Are you a seasoned procurement leader, known for your ability to build strong vendor partnerships, negotiate win-win agreements, and design efficient processes that balance speed with control? Are you looking for the opportunity to create a procurement function from the ground up in a high-growth, proudly Canadian company that is revolutionizing healthcare? The sky is the limit! If you have:

  • 10+ years of procurement, sourcing, or vendor management experience (ideally in SaaS or technology);
  • Proven expertise in negotiating software/SaaS, cloud infrastructure, and professional services agreements;
  • Strong knowledge of procurement best practices and comfort with contract review processes;
  • A pragmatic, business-friendly approach: balancing rigor with speed;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust across Finance, Legal, IT, and Operations;
  • Experience with procurement or spend management platforms (e.g., Coupa, Zip, Vendr, Ironclad). Successful implementations are a strong asset;
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks (SOC 2) and vendor risk management;
  • Self-starter who thrives in fast-growing, scaling environments;
  • Since you will be regularly interacting with English-speaking colleagues and vendors located outside of Québec, proficiency in both English and French (spoken, written, and read) is required.
