About the role

We are currently seeking a “Procurement Buyer, Junior or Intermediate ” to support our dynamic team. As an integral member of the team, you will have an opportunity to support the procurement team’s goals and objectives and to work with individuals from various disciplines in administering the purchasing and expediting process for assigned projects including planning and development. You will have the opportunity to expedite commodities of various types of equipment, such as Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, Pipe Valves and Fittings. Your pride in procuring and expediting commodities and executing in compliance with project standards and procedures will be a vital part of this diverse and interesting position.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain procurement trackers and summaries
  • Sourcing and pre-qualifying suppliers
  • Prepare bidders' lists, develop bid packages, issue RFQs / RFPs, evaluate bids, manage clarifications and prepare purchase recommendations
  • Communicate with client to secure approvals for purchase in accordance with established procedures
  • Initiate, issue, and administer purchase orders and change orders through predetermined procedures
  • Manage and expedite purchase orders from start of engineering through fabrication, shipping and delivery
  • Coordinate engineering documentation and monitor supplier performance
  • Interact with engineering and construction staff to monitor revisions and amendments to scopes
  • Assist at post award meetings to ensure understanding between clients and suppliers on all contractual matters
  • Determine selection of work methods and procedures and makes recommendations for improvement
  • Ability to negotiate Contracts and Terms and Conditions
Skills and Qualifications
  • A technical college graduate with 2-6 years related experience or an equivalent combination of studies and related experience
  • Preference for candidate to have Supply Chain Management (SCMP) designation or similar
  • Completion of specialized procurement or business administration courses with working knowledge of commercial and legal aspects of procurement
  • Experience with purchasing systems
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple orders and projects with a fast-paced schedule
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in selecting, classifying, completing, and analyzing data obtained from various sources
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team and with internal / external stakeholders
  • Motivated with solid follow up skills

The salary for this role is based on an average of 37.5 hours a week. The estimated range is between $52,000-$87,000 annually, depending on skills and experience
