Job summary

Spirit Omega Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Process Safety Engineer - HAZOP Facilitator with deep expertise in refining and chemical processing.

You will lead PHA workshops to identify and mitigate process safety risks in high-hazard operations, partnering with operations and engineering to improve plant reliability. The role requires strong technical knowledge, proven facilitation experience, and the ability to present risk assessments to technical and leadership teams while ensuring

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in chemical, mechanical, or process engineering or related field.
Minimum 7 years of experience in process safety or process engineering in refining or petrochemical environments.
Experience facilitating HAZOP and other PHA studies in brownfield plants.
Knowledge of flare systems, pressure relief sizing, and safeguarding design principles.
Familiarity with rotating equipment safeguarding and pumps/seals.

Responsibilities

Lead HAZOP studies and other PHA methodologies for refining and chemical processing units.
Facilitate LOPA and SIL studies as part of risk management.
Identify Tolerability/ALARP gaps related to major incidents or LOPCs.
Apply RAM to evaluate consequences of hazard releases.
Collaborate with operations, engineering and maintenance to identify and mitigate risks.
