Elk Valley Resources (EVR) is seeking a Process Operator to join the Greenhills Processing Plant at the Elk Valley operations. The role reports to the Plant Supervisor and includes operating processing circuits, heavy equipment, and performing routine inspections and minor repairs.

Site-based work in Elk Valley, near Sparwood, BC is required. Expect to aid in safety programs, environmental controls, and plant performance optimization.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid class 5 driver’s license is required.
• Strong interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team is essential.
• Previous mining experience is an asset, particularly in a processing operations scope.
• Formal process operations certification, heavy equipment operations or industrial experience is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies.
• Operate fixed plant processing circuits, including coarse and fine coal recovery circuits, mechanical and evaporative dewatering operations, and clean coal loadout operations.
• Run heavy equipment including haul truck, dozer, and loader.
• Perform equipment maintenance.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Additional tasks include shoveling, hosing, and lifting various objects.

About The Role

Greenhills Operations produces upwards of 5.5Mt per year of high quality steelmaking coal through the processing plant. This is a unique opportunity to join directly into a full-time role in the Greenhills Processing Plant. Reporting to the Plant Supervisor, the Process Operator is responsible for performing a variety of duties including physical labour, equipment operation, process troubleshooting/optimization, mechanical inspections and minor repair work.

The position is site-based at our operations in the Elk Valley, and the ability to reliably commute to or relocate near Sparwood, B.C is necessary.

Hourly Wage: Starting at $43.83 per hour, with increases to $51.36 with progressive circuit experience

Base earnings reflected in salary range includes the hourly wage plus applicable shift premiums and will differ depending on location. It is calculated using a reasonably expected number of hours worked per year.
