Job description

Millar Western’s Slave Lake Pulp Division is looking for a highly motivated Process Operator to join our Production team. Beginning in the pulp warehouse, this individual will have the opportunity to advance into various operational areas, including production lines, the Bio Energy plant, water treatment, boilers, and the control room. A strong commitment to workplace safety is essential, as this role plays a key part in enhancing both facility operations and our safety program. This is a shift-based position, requiring rotating 12-hour day and night shifts.

The ideal candidate

The successful candidate will hold a 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate (or be actively working toward one) and bring previous experience in an industrial environment. This position involves working 12-hour rotating shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. A willingness to learn and continuously build skills is essential to contribute effectively to the team.

Key qualities include a strong commitment to safety and sound decision-making, the ability to follow direction while working with minimal supervision, and reliability in attendance and performance. Candidates should demonstrate clear communication skills, a positive and professional attitude, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative team setting.
