Job description

Many of the world’s top engineers and scientists come together in our Water business because they view a community’s interaction with water a bit differently—as a single holistic system, rather than unconnected networks divided by jurisdictional boundaries. Working throughout the hydrologic cycle, we are delivering sustainable solutions to make sure water is where it should be and available when needed. Our experts guide our work with scientific rigor, an innovative spirit, and a vision for growth. Every day, we help communities improve, reuse, and protect this precious resource for future generations. Grow with us, H2O+U.

Your Opportunity

Stantec is a dynamic, people-centered environment that has been recognized by Forbes as one of the world’s best employers. Our team of brilliant specialists have helped the Water group to thrive in meeting the water supply and treatment needs for our clients, and the Public Sector is seeking an Intermediate Process Technologist. Our team regularly collaborates on projects across North America. The successful candidate should be comfortable working and collaborating on a variety of different projects with team members across North America. We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated, team player that is excited about taking on a new challenge.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Preparing engineering drawings for industrial infrastructure projects using Revit.
  • Accurately read and interpret process and building mechanical drawings related to water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and mechanical piping systems.
  • Ensure Revit, CAD Standards, Quality Assurance, and Quality Control procedures are followed during drawing planning and production.
  • Understand and adhere to Stantec and client standards.
  • Work with project managers and technical design staff to prepare coordinated 3D models and engineering drawings.
  • Skillfully work in Revit projects, including maintaining multiple models, creating views, and ensuring accurate object placement.
  • Demonstrated ability to deeply understand and interpret Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and independently develop coordinated 3D models and detailed engineering drawings directly from P&IDs with limited or no markup guidance.
  • Organize, manage, and publish project models, drawings, and electronic deliverables in accordance with Stantec and client requirements.
  • Prepare presentation graphics and report figures.
  • Assist the CAD/BIM Project Lead with project setup and coordination of project drawings using collaboration platforms such as Autodesk Forma, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), and ProjectWise.
  • Create and manage custom Revit families.
  • Collaborate effectively with other technical disciplines.
  • Ensure project deliverables are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Assist with model reviews and multidisciplinary coordination using ACC and Navisworks.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Required experience with Revit, Autodesk Forma and ProjectWise.
  • Strong communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities and a willingness to work in a team atmosphere.
  • Highly organized, have significant attention to detail, able to prioritize multiple tasks and demonstrate a flexible approach to work assignments.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite including Word and Excel.
  • Experience with Plant 3D.
  • Bentley Software.
  • 3DS MAX.
  • Additional rendering software experience.
Education and Experience
  • Technologist diploma/certificate in a related program with a minimum of five to six years of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Familiarity with water and wastewater treatment disciplines, and/or an educational background in these areas.
