Job summary

TYLin is seeking expressions of interest from Water Engineers for anticipated opportunities over the next 3–6 months with our Water Sector team in Ontario. An immediate vacancy may not exist, but we are building relationships with strong professionals for upcoming projects and hiring needs.

Responsibilities include design of municipal water and wastewater facilities, coordinating approvals with agencies, mentoring junior staff, and supporting project scope, budget and schedule; minimum

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Civil engineering.
  • P.Eng licensure with P.E.O.
  • 5-7 years of experience in wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with Master Planning, Class EAs and DWWP/ECA processes in Ontario is an asset.
  • Contract administration experience is an asset.
  • Client focused with innovative problem solving.

Responsibilities

  • Design municipal water and wastewater facilities including drawings and reports.
  • Coordinate design with agencies and obtain necessary approvals.
  • Liaise with clients and municipalities to secure approvals.
  • Assist in managing project scope, budget, staffing and schedule.
  • Prepare construction contract documents and specifications.
  • May conduct construction inspection and administration.
  • Support submittals and RFIs during construction.
  • Participate in constructability reviews and QA/QC.
  • Mentor junior team members on municipal infrastructure design.
  • Prepare proposals, change orders and client communications.
  • Complete tasks accurately with minimal supervision.

Job Summary

Responsibilities & Qualifications
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Undertake the design of both public and private sector municipal servicing projects (i.e. sewage pumping stations and water booster stations, elevated tanks, reservoirs, and water/wastewater treatment systems) including engineering drawings, engineering reports, presentations, and required applications to regulatory and/or funding agencies.
  • Coordinate the design with review/input from the various municipal/utility/approval agencies/stakeholders and obtain all necessary approvals.
  • Liaise with clients, municipalities, and other agencies to secure approvals.
  • Assist developing and managing project scope, budget, staffing and schedule.
  • Prepare contract documents for construction (i.e. engineering drawings and specifications).
  • May conduct construction inspection services and construction administration.
  • May provide services during construction that can include submittal reviews, responses to requests for information and contract document clarifications.
  • Participate in constructability review.
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control on projects.
  • Mentor recently hired junior team members on the various facets of municipal infrastructure design.
  • Prepare portions of engineering project proposals, change orders, client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects.
  • Complete tasks accurately and efficiently with minimum supervision.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Civil engineering.
  • P.Eng. licensure with P.E.O.
  • 5-7 years of experience in the execution of wastewater infrastructure (sewer pumping stations, booster pumping stations, reservoir and elevated tanks and water and wastewater treatment plants) projects.
  • Experience with Master Planning, Class EAs and DWWP and/or ECA process in Ontario considered or equivalent in other Provinces is considered an asset.
  • Contract administration experience is considered an asset.

Additional Information
