The Process Engineer In Training plays a critical role in optimizing milling operations within a potash plant. This position is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and improving process performance to ensure safe, efficient, and sustainable production of potash. The engineer will collaborate with operations, maintenance, and technical teams to troubleshoot issues, implement process improvements, and drive innovation in mineral processing. This position reports to the Chief Metallurgical Engineer.

What You'll Do:
  • Process Optimization: Monitor mill performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements to maximize throughput and recovery.
  • Data Analysis: Collect and interpret operational data to support decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose process upsets, equipment inefficiencies, and quality deviations; recommend corrective actions.
  • Project Support: Assist in design, commissioning, and evaluation of new equipment or process modifications.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety standards while promoting a culture of safe work practices.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with operations, maintenance, and reliability teams to achieve production targets.
  • Reporting: Prepare technical reports, performance summaries, and recommendations for management.
What You'll Bring:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or relevant discipline from a recognized institution.
  • Engineer-in-Training Designationand/or eligibility to register with APEGS.
  • 0-3 years of relevant post secondary experience.
  • Positive safety behaviourand proven history of demonstrating "Respect in the Workplace" values.
  • Knowledge ofmineral processing principles, process control,sampling theory, and Potash milling experience.
  • Experience with experimental design, and both bench and pilot scale test work.
