Job summary

Domtar in Skookumchuck, British Columbia, is seeking a Process Engineer to support health and safety programs and optimize mill processes. This full-time permanent role requires a diploma or degree in Science with 2-3 years of kraft pulp milling experience.

You will develop process control, testing and sampling techniques, review operating reports, and implement solutions to deviations, while ensuring conformance to internal and external specifications.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Science with 2–3 years experience in kraft pulp milling.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills; able to communicate clearly.
• Excellent written, verbal and listening abilities, with troubleshooting focus.
• Proven safety and environmental compliance record.
• Knowledge of root cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Promotes and supports the health & safety program.
• Develops process control, testing and sampling techniques necessary to control mill processes.
• Reviews operating reports and recommends solutions to deviations from control targets; provide direct assistance in implementing solutions when required.
• Evaluates new or existing processes and equipment to optimize production, quality and costs.
