If you are successful in wealth management, strong at winning new clients and confident in your ability to sell — but feel you have reached a ceiling in the traditional bank or wealth-management model — this opportunity is worth exploring.
Our client is a highly established global investment-management organization with a unique business model and a rapidly growing Canadian presence.
The opportunity is designed for high-performing financial professionals who want to focus on what they do best: business development, client acquisition and closing new relationships.
You will not be responsible for managing client portfolios after onboarding.
You will not spend your days servicing an existing book.
You will not be cold calling.
Instead, you will work with a continuous flow of qualified prospective clients who have already expressed interest in the firm's investment-management offering. Your role is to understand their financial situation, establish credibility, articulate the firm's value proposition and convert qualified prospects into clients.
Once the relationship is established, the client is transitioned to a dedicated portfolio and relationship-management team. You are paid our your commissions and move on to the next opportunity.
Many professionals joining this organization come from traditional Financial Advisor, Wealth Advisor, Investment Advisor or Associate Portfolio Manager environments.
They are already successful.
What they are looking for is more upside, more focus and fewer limitations on what they can earn. They are tired of waiting to inherit a promised portfolio.
This environment can be particularly compelling for someone who:
Top performers within the organization can build exceptionally lucrative careers, with some reaching seven-figure annual compensation.
This is NOT a role for someone looking for a comfortable salary and predictable bonus.
It is for someone who is hungry, competitive, self-motivated and genuinely excited by the opportunity to be paid at a very high level for producing results.
Candidates must have accumulated a minimum of 24 months of registration as an Investment Dealer representative under IIROC/CIRO during their career.
The 24 months:
However, mutual-fund registration alone does not qualify.
You must have worked within the Investment Dealer channel and have been appropriately registered to sell, recommend or provide advice regarding securities, or have worked in a qualifying capacity alongside portfolio-management/investment activities requiring Investment Dealer registration (IIROC).
If your experience has only been through a mutual-fund dealer, this opportunity will unfortunately not meet the regulatory requirements of the role.
The CIM designation is important for this position.
If you already hold the CIM, that is highly advantageous.
If you meet the Investment Dealer experience requirement but do not yet have your CIM, the organization can support and fully fund the required accreditation prior to entering the role.
CFA designation is also highly valued.
Work from anywhere in Canada outside Quebec.
You are not expected to build your business through traditional cold prospecting.
Your responsibility is winning the relationship, not managing every market movement afterward.
Once onboarded, clients transition to teams focused specifically on investment management and ongoing service.
Your compensation grows directly with performance.
Strong performers can move well beyond the compensation ceiling that often exists within traditional banking and advisory environments.
You are representing a sophisticated and highly differentiated investment-management organization rather than building a proposition from scratch.
You may be ideal for this opportunity if you are currently a:
Financial Advisor | Wealth Advisor | Investment Advisor | Private Wealth Advisor | Associate Wealth Manager | Associate Portfolio Manager | Financial Planner | Investment Representative
…and you are thinking:
“I know I can sell. I know I can build relationships. I know I can close. I just want an environment where there isn't a ceiling on what that ability can earn me or I am successfully onboarding clients however my Portfolio Manager is reaping the financial rewards.”
If that sounds like you — and you meet the minimum 24-month Investment Dealer registration requirement — I would like to speak with you.
