Privacy Analyst
Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada - Remote
Term: 1 year +
four 1-year extensions
Work: Part-time (
25-40 hrs / week), with an estimated average of approximately 30 hours per week. There is no minimum hour guarantee and work engagement is based on client need. Hours will fluctuate based on these criteria and work as per client. Remote allowed.
The Privacy Analyst will support the Cybersecurity and Risk Management Branch in enhancing privacy capabilities across the organization. The analyst will work closely with internal stakeholders, external partners, and the Government of Saskatchewan's Access and Privacy Officers to deliver critical privacy services and support compliance with applicable privacy legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) for complex and multi-system technology solutions.
- Perform Privacy Maturity Model Assessments when requested.
- Provide guidance and interpretation of Federal and Saskatchewan privacy legislation and requirements.
- Support breach response processes involving privacy incidents.
- Conduct privacy-related information sessions, focus groups, and training.
- Collaborate with Access and Privacy Officers to strengthen internal privacy maturity.
- Create, review, and maintain privacy policies and procedures.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of solutions using a privacy-by-design approach.
- Perform privacy research and analysis to support recommendations and process enhancements.
- Review project proposals, proof-of-concepts, and solution designs for privacy concerns.
- Work closely with information security teams to align privacy and security frameworks.
- Manage work plans and project schedules while providing excellent customer service.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience conducting Privacy Impact Assessments for complex or multi-system technology solutions within the last 5 years.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of Federal and Saskatchewan privacy laws.
- Experience delivering PIAs in Provincial and/or Federal government environments.
- Strong understanding or experience with privacy-by-design principles or equivalent.
- Experience contributing to biometric-enabled solution designs and assessments.
- Proven ability to conduct privacy research and analysis for privacy advancement.
- Experience identifying privacy issues in proposals, initiatives, and proof of concepts.
- Knowledge of information security standards, methods, and best practices.
- Experience in project/work plan management with a focus on client satisfaction.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Privacy-related certifications such as CIPP/C, CIPP/US, CIPM, or equivalent.
