Stantec is seeking a Technology Consulting Regional Leader for Canada East to drive strategic projects, mentor staff, and ensure high-quality project delivery. You will lead client engagements, set delivery standards, forecast workload, and manage financial performance across the Canada East group.

The role emphasizes strategic leadership, ongoing development of staff capabilities, and collaboration with BC leadership and other technology leaders to advance Stantec’s position as an industry

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in related field is highly desirable and provides the foundation for delivery of Technology Systems consulting services.
RCDD certification is required and demonstrates specialized expertise in building technology systems.
Revit experience is required for building information modeling and design coordination.
AutoCAD or similar drafting software experience is desirable for integrated drawing sets.
CCNA certification and other professional certifications (PE, CTS, PMP, PSP) are preferred to underpin technical leadership.

Responsibilities

Your Opportunity

The Technology Consulting Canada East Regional Leader contributes to the overall strategic and tactical leadership of the Stantec Buildings group Technology Consulting discipline in Buildings offices within the Canada East region. This position will lead strategic projects, be client facing, contribute to project delivery standards and work processes, provide quality control, workload forecasting and financial performance accountability. The Technology leader contributes to differentiating Stantec from other competing firms and positions Stantec and its Technology staff as innovators in the industry.

Your Key Responsibilities

People and Practice Management - approximately 25% of time

In collaboration with BC leadership and other Technology Consulting leaders, develop annual budgets for sales, topline revenue, training, utilization and project performance for the Canada East Technology Consulting group.
In conjunction with other stakeholders, identify and forecast staff needs and assignments based on current and projected workload and SME requirements.
Hold project team members accountable for deliverables and best practices.
Directly & Indirectly manage Technology Consulting staff in a performance management environment, and be responsible for hiring as required.
Responsible for the financial performance, quality control processes, and project delivery for Technology Consulting projects.
Ensure PM compliance with best practices, including Stantec PM Frameworks.

Project Involvement - approximately 50% of time

Work with PM's and SME’s on key projects to develop and deliver client drawings, specifications, presentations, reports, and other deliverables.
Provide senior project client facing leadership on key projects and for key accounts.
Periodically act as a QC reviewer on Technology Consulting projects.
Maintain awareness of operational, technical or regulatory changes within the Technology Consulting and AEC overall, disseminate such knowledge to staff and firm, and integrate into existing processes and standards.
Maintain and update Technology Consulting specifications, technical documentation and standards.
Oversee Technology Consulting design delivery process and best practices and coordinate with other disciplines.
Provide oversight for Technology Consulting staff’s education and certification process & balance firm, studio and staff needs.

Technical Leadership - approximately 10% of time

Maintain awareness of operational, technical or regulatory changes within the Technology Consulting and AEC overall, disseminate such knowledge to staff and firm, and integrate into existing processes and standards.
Maintain and update Technology Consulting specifications, technical documentation and standards.
Oversee Technology Consulting design delivery process and best practices and coordinate with other disciplines.
Provide oversight for Technology Consulting staff’s education and certification process & balance firm, studio and staff needs.

Business Development/Marketing - approximately 10% of time

Contribute to the development of strategic and tactical business development and marketing plans for the Technology Consulting group and align with firm-wide Technology Consulting goals and strategies.
Develop new and maintain existing client relationships.
Develop presentation materials and present to clients and at strategic industry events.
Represent the firm through published articles, public speaking engagements and attendance at industry and community events, meetings, and conferences.
Develop project proposals.
Assist the marketing department with the development of Technology Consulting marketing materials and content.

Learning/Maintaining and Expanding Technical and Managerial Skills - approximately 5% of time

Maintains current knowledge of technologies and trends impacting Stantec's core service offerings and markets and continually strengthens skills.

Systems include voice and data cabling infrastructure, electronic security, wireless systems, audio video systems, nurse call, fire alarm, building automation.
Comprehensive understanding of building project components, project management and delivery systems; ability to continuously evaluate and refine processes to increase efficiency and client satisfaction.
Outstanding consulting skills; with ability to present a credible, engaging image in keeping with Stantec’s high service standards.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and polished presentation and public speaking skills.

Education and Experience

Bachelors’ degree in related field - Telecommunications, Information Technology or Electrical Engineering is highly desirable, although comparable proven work experience is acceptable.
Ten (10) years’ experience in delivering Technology Systems consulting to Architects and Owners in diverse markets including healthcare, commercial, data center, higher education, life sciences, civic and government.
RCDD certification is required.
Revit experience required.
AutoCAD or similar drafting software experience is also desirable.
CCNA, PE, CTS, PMP, PSP etc., are preferred.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may require travel and include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
