GitLab is seeking a Principal Engineer to shape the next phase of GitLab Dedicated, our fully managed single-tenant SaaS. You will lead architecture, drive platform transformations, and mentor senior engineers across teams to scale reliability, security, and compliance.

You will influence decisions, guide complex architectural direction, and partner with product and engineering leaders to raise technical maturity as we grow. This is a remote, globally accessible role with broad impact.

Qualificações

• Deep expertise in Site Reliability, Platform, Infrastructure, or Backend Engineering.
• Hands-on with cloud infrastructure, automation, observability, IaC, and modern production practices.
• Strong software fundamentals; experience building production systems or infra tooling.
• Track record of technical leadership across multiple teams.
• Experience leading significant platform or infrastructure transformations.
• Strong communication and influence to mentor senior engineers.

Responsabilidades

• Set technical direction for GitLab Dedicated, shaping architecture and platform strategy as we scale.
• Lead platform transformations across resilience, failover, tenant orchestration, change management, self-service tooling, and integrations.
• Drive modular architecture aligning Dedicated with Cells strategy while preserving security and compliance.
• Strengthen service ownership and operational maturity for production systems.
• Identify and address systemic reliability and scalability risks from production signals.
• Establish reusable platform patterns and automation to scale efficiently.
• Lead complex decisions across teams balancing reliability, security, cost, and maintainability.
• Advance engineering excellence through architectural leadership and mentorship.
