General Motors in Canada is seeking a Staff Engineer of Software Engineering, Embedded Platform, as a Continuous Integration Developer (Architect Level). You will define the architecture, standards, and strategy for how GM builds, tests, and deploys virtualized vehicle software.

You will lead ahead in CI/CD, embedded systems, automation, and expand into cloud orchestration, IaC, progressive delivery, and data‑driven simulation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in software engineering or equivalent experience.
• 15 years of software development experience.
• Deep understanding of software architecture for real time systems.
• Experience shipping high quality safety critical products.
• Cloud architecture experience across AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Mentor DevOps and simulation developers across the organization.

The Role:

General Motors is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as the Staff Engineer of Software Engineering, Embedded Platform. As a Continuous Integration Developer (Architect Level), you will define the architecture, standards, and strategy for how GM builds, tests, and deploys virtualized vehicle software. You'll leverage your strengths in CI/CD, embedded systems, and automation while expanding into cloud orchestration, IaC, progressive delivery, and data driven simulation. • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a keen attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work in an action‑oriented decision‑making environment
• Deep Kubernetes knowledge including cluster operations.
• Strong Terraform/IaC experience with production‑grade module design.
• Experience with embedded or simulation workflows (vECUs, SIL, FMU, SSP).
• Cloud architecture experience across AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Compensation:

The salary range for this role is $186,000 to $236,000. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
