Job summary

Epic Games in Montreal is seeking a Principal Narrative Designer to execute the narrative vision for Fortnite and other IPs. You will partner with senior leadership to weave immersive storytelling across gameplay and worlds.

You will mentor writers, review intake processes, collaborate with design and art, develop dialogue and in-game text, and help cast voice performances. This role demands a creative, collaborative leader with a track record in AAA projects.

Qualifications

• Extensive narrative design or writing experience in game production.
• At least one AAA shipped project as a Narrative Lead/Lead Writer/Narrative Director.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Knowledge of modern video game storytelling techniques.

Responsibilities

• Work with writers to execute the narrative vision and development for Fortnite and potential new and existing IPs.
• Vet and review intake processes for the writing team across projects.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to craft game stories, characters, and worlds that resonate with a global audience.
• Work with game design to ensure narrative complements gameplay and coordinates with the Art team on world-building.
• Aid in development and writing of engaging storylines, dialogue, and in-game text.
• Maintain effective communication with the development team and project stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of narrative elements into gameplay.
• Collaborate with Lead Writer to lead casting and voice recording sessions.
