Job summary

Mining Plus seeks a Principal Mining Consultant to lead our underground project work in North America. You will deliver premium consulting, apply your mining engineering expertise, and guide multi-disciplinary teams to client-specified scopes.

The role requires 15+ years of mining-technical experience, 5+ years in operational mining, P.Eng. (or equivalent), NI 43-101 exposure, and Deswik/Datamine proficiency. Strong leadership, communication, and business development skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of mining-technical experience.
• Minimum 5 years of operational mining experience.
• Experience using Min planning software (Deswik or Datamine).
• P.Eng. (or equivalent) designation.
• Experience as a QP under NI 43-101.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing involvement in mining studies (scoping, pre-feasibility & feasibility).
• Lead mine planning, optimization projects and economic modelling.
• Lead design activities and mine services engineering.
• Write and review technical engineering reports (NI 43-101 or equivalent).
• Mentor and develop staff, and manage multi-disciplinary project teams.

Mining Plus has an exciting opportunity for a Principal Mining professional with demonstrated expertise in underground projects to lead a diversified and powerful engineering capability in North America. As a Principal Mining Consultant, you are responsible for providing premium consulting services to our clients. You will apply your expert Mining Engineering experience to provide recommendations to Mining Plus clients and projects across a variety of metal commodities. You will have the opportunity to work with our international team of technical experts servicing projects globally. The successful candidate will also consult on interesting and important projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide ongoing involvement in mining studies (Scoping, Pre-feasibility & Feasibility)
• Conduct mine asset due diligence and evaluations
• Conduct mine planning, optimization projects and mine economic modelling
• Leadminedesign activities and mineservicesengineering
• Write and review technical engineering Reports (NI 43-101 or equivalent)
• Support mining engineers on, or lead yourself, projects requiring technical solutions
• Oversight of technical quality, and delivery of projects including design, review and project management according to client-approved scopes of work
• Be a champion for practical mining solutions for projects and operations, leveraging our existing foundation of global best practices (fit for the project)
• Lead and manage multi-disciplinary project teams, work with professionals to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget
• Actively mentor and develop staff in your team, in the interests of their long-term career objectives and operational needs
• Manage contractors and sub-consultants on projects (as required)

Skills/Qualifications:

• 15+ years of mining-technical experience
• Minimum 5 years of operational mining experience required
• Must be able to use Mine Planning software competently (Deswik or Datamine preferred)
• Must be P.Eng. (Or Equivalent)
• Experience as a QP under NI 43-101
• Ability to lead a Technical Team
• Desire to lead business development activities
• Strong technical and project management skills
• Excellent workplace safety practices (advocate for global best practices)
• Practically minded and a passion for technical excellence
• Exceptional communication, report writing, interpersonal and presentation skills
• Superior time management, planning and ability to interact with clients
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated experience in writing proposals, technical reports and general project correspondence
