Overview

In this pivotal role, you will be an integral part of our high-caliber, product-oriented DSP team, focused on advancing the next generation of optical modems with exceptional data rates and capacity. Collaborating closely with DSP algorithm, Hardware, Firmware, Optics, and ASIC teams, you will define methodologies, execute testing, and ensure optimal performance of high-speed analog components like ADCs, DACs, and PLLs. Our vibrant work environment fosters innovation, where your expertise will directly contribute to the ASIC bring-up and the seamless integration of electro-optic systems. Responsibilities
  • Design and execute test methodologies for high-speed analog electronic devices including ADCs/DACs and PLLs.
  • Develop comprehensive test plans and procure necessary test instruments for rigorous testing of analog components against their specs.
  • Collaborate with DSP algorithm teams to define specifications for PLL and ADC/DAC components.
  • Work alongside Hardware, Firmware, Optics, and ASIC teams to conduct integrated testing of DSP ASIC functions.
  • Contribute to ASIC bring-up and integration of electro-optic systems for optimal performance.
  • Utilize strong signal processing knowledge to analyze and troubleshoot high-speed analog components.
  • Write complex simulation codes using tools such as Matlab, C, and Python for real-time system implementation.
  • Mentor junior engineers and facilitate knowledge sharing within the team to foster development and innovation.
Qualifications

You have:

  • Masters or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent field with a solid communications background
  • In-depth knowledge of Fract-N PLL and internals of interleaved DAC and ADC
  • Prior lab experience testing high-speed analog devices including ADC, DAC, and PLL
  • Strong proficiency in MATLAB, C, and Python for complex simulations and debugging
  • Solid understanding of fiber optic channels and modem impairments in optical transmission systems
Nice to have
  • 5+ years of experience with real-time optical transmission systems
  • Experience working with control loops and digital equalization
  • Familiarity with high-speed testing instruments and their limitations
