About the Role

We are seeking a Principal Civil Engineer to join our WA Civil team. This senior role provides technical leadership across a wide range of civil, structural, resources and geotechnical projects and offers an opportunity to step into the Discipline Lead role for Western Australia.

The role will include:

  • Leading and approving technical work related to civil engineering design and project delivery
  • Providing technical expertise throughout feasibility, design, construction and integration phases
  • Managing project work to ensure technical, contractual and quality requirements are met
  • Overseeing QA and QC for civil design projects
  • Reviewing and signing off engineering deliverables, reports and technical studies
  • Coordinating and delivering projects and proposals
  • Monitoring project budgets, timelines and scope changes
  • Leading, mentoring and supporting engineers across all levels
  • Participating in client management, business development and proposal writing
  • Contributing to annual business planning and participating in leadership initiatives
What do we need from you

You will bring extensive experience in civil engineering within a consultancy or similar environment, with proven leadership capability and strong technical expertise.

You will also have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering
  • CPEng and/or NER (highly desirable)
  • Extensive WA experience across multidisciplinary civil design projects, including roads, earthworks, drainage, water/tailings storage and flood management
  • Strong report writing and technical review skills
  • Demonstrated project management and client engagement experience
  • Proven ability to mentor and guide junior engineers
  • Strong knowledge of Australian and local standards and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
