Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Principal Azure Platform Engineer to join a leading banking client in Toronto. This senior role is hands-on and focuses on designing, building, automating, and operating cloud platforms used by multiple engineering teams.

You will drive large-scale Azure initiatives, implement IaC with Terraform/CDKTF, and partner with security, risk, and architecture groups to ensure governance and operational excellence across the platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of cloud/platform engineering or infrastructure experience.
• Experience delivering and operating Azure environments.
• Experience designing large-scale Azure platforms and shared services.
• Experience leading projects and partnering with technology teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate enterprise-scale Azure platform services and cloud infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain shared platform capabilities to support multiple technology teams.
• Build reusable cloud components and self-service deployment patterns to accelerate Azure adoption.
• Design and implement Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Terraform and other automation frameworks.
• Develop automation, tooling, and operational solutions using Python.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps capabilities to improve platform reliability.
• Implement Azure landing zones, networking, identity, governance, and security controls.
• Collaborate with engineering to establish standardized platform patterns and best practices.

Insight Global is seeking a Principal Azure Platform Engineer to join one of our big 5 banking clients. This is a senior, hands‑on engineering position for an individual contributor who thrives in designing, building, automating, and operating cloud platforms used by multiple engineering teams.

As a technical subject matter expert, you will help drive large‑scale cloud initiatives while partnering closely with engineering, security, risk, and architecture teams. The successful candidate will bring deep platform engineering expertise, strong Infrastructure‑as‑Code and automation skills, and experience building shared cloud services that support large, complex organizations. The role will play a key part in accelerating Azure adoption while ensuring security, scalability, governance, and operational excellence across the platform.

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Engineering)
• 10+ years of experience in cloud engineering, platform engineering leadership, or infrastructure roles.
• Proven experience delivering and operating Azure environments.
• Experience designing, implementing and delivering large scale Azure platforms
• Experience building foundational cloud platform capabilities, engineering enablement tooling, or shared services for internal development teams.
• Experience driving large projects, where you have demonstrated leadership skills, partnering with technology teams and leaders, building horizontal capabilities across the enterprise.
