Job summary

eStruxture in Calgary, Alberta is seeking a Primary Care Paramedic to provide emergency medical interventions within a harm reduction model at a supervised consumption site. You will perform assessments, administer naloxone, and deliver health education through the Safeworks program.

Additional duties include immunizations, distribution of safer sex and drug-use supplies, and basic wound care as part of a regular part-time schedule (FTE 0.53) with day and night shifts.

Qualifications

• Accredited Primary Care Paramedic program completed.
• Active registration with Alberta College of Paramedics as Primary Care Paramedic.
• Current BCLS-HCP certification.
• F.A.R.E. test completed within 6 months of application date.

Responsibilities

As an EMT Supervised Consumption Services, you will provide emergency service and paramedic interventions within a harm reduction model at a supervised consumption site. The role includes comprehensive physical and mental health assessments, delivery of harm reduction supplies, supervised consumption clinical interventions and education, naloxone distribution, and other health education and support through the Safeworks program. Other duties may include immunizations, distribution of safer sex and drug use supplies, and basic wound care.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Primary Care Paramedic program. Active registration with Alberta College of Paramedics (ACP) as Primary Care Paramedic. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP). Completion of the Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (F.A.R.E.) test taken no more than six months from the application date.
