A community health centre located in Timmins, Ontario, is seeking an experienced Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. In this role, you will provide culturally sensitive primary care services to clients of all ages and work collaboratively within an interprofessional team. Ideal candidates should have current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario and a minimum of 2 years’ experience. Understanding Indigenous culture and values is essential. Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (Part-Time and Full-Time)

Misiway Milopemahtesewin Community Health Centre, located in Timmins, ON, is established to provide quality programs and services that honour, respect and support Indigenous culture, values and healing practices, complemented by western approaches to primary health care.

We are searching for an experienced Nurse Practitioner who will offer primary care services to clients of all ages in a practice that is culturally sensitive and safe for all.

The Opportunity:

Job Title: Primary Care Nurse Practitioner
Salary Range: $93,000 - $137,000

Bring your proven clinical experience in advanced assessment, diagnostics and treatment to a challenging and rewarding role in primary health care services. As a Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner you will work as part of the interprofessional team to provide a variety of health care services spanning health promotion, disease prevention and chronic disease management. Your knowledge and/or willingness to learn about Indigenous values and healing practices will assist you in the delivery of high quality and culturally competent care.

As a successful candidate, your qualifications will include:

  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse in the Extended Class RN(EC) without restrictions
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Primary Care Nurse Practitioner is preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and conflict management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Ability to honour, respect and support Indigenous culture, values and healing practices
  • Experience working with Indigenous clients and organizations is an asset
  • Proficiency in the use of computers and various software applications
  • Class G driver’s license and use of a vehicle are required
  • Ability to speak Cree or Ojibway is considered an asset
