Job summary

A healthcare organization in British Columbia is seeking a Primary Care Nurse to deliver direct patient care and health promotion programs at Gold River Health Centre. The ideal candidate will hold a Remote Nursing Certification, have three years of recent nursing experience, and possess strong skills in clinical competence and effective communication. This role requires working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

  • Three years' recent related experience in nursing.

Job description

In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority, patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at VIHA; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Working independently and participating as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, the Primary Care Nurse is responsible for direct patient/client care at Gold River Health Centre, and delivers health promotion programs to individuals and groups in a variety of settings in the designated rural area.

QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Training And Experience

Remote Nursing Certification or eligible for Remote Nursing Certification to be obtained within one (1) year of hire. Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN(C) registrant. Three (3) years' recent related experience; knowledge of available programs and services, their interrelationships, and their function in delivering care in the community; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Basic Life Support, Level C certificate. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

Valid BC drivers license
