Battlefield Equipment Rentals in Goose Bay, NL is seeking a hands-on Preventative Maintenance Technician Level 1. You will perform cleaning, inspection, and maintenance on construction equipment, ensuring safe operation of the rental fleet.

Qualifications

• Mechanical experience with preventative maintenance tasks (oil/filter changes, repairs).
• Apprentice mindset and willingness to learn new skills.
• Team player with ability to juggle priorities and work with minimal supervision.
• Independent worker with good time management and organization.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with Systematics is a plus.
• Safety-focused and compliant with health & safety policies.
• Customer service oriented with strong communication skills.
• Experience operating forklifts is preferred.
• CAT equipment knowledge is a plus.
• Flexibility for on‑call duties and adapting to business needs.
• Ownership of personal tools is required.

As a key member of the Service team, the Preventative Maintenance Technician Level 1 plays a vital role in keeping our rental fleet and customer equipment operating safely, reliably, and effectively.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Complete cleaning, washing and routine maintenance of construction equipment;
• Complete quality assurance inspections on equipment;
• Testing and operation of construction equipment, including, but not limited to, assessment of damages;
• Perform preventative maintenance on construction equipment, including, but not limited to, maintaining and servicing rental equipment, oil and filter changes;
• Complete required documentation and data entry;
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization of work area, shop and branch;
• Load and unload customer rental equipment when required;
• Maintain a safe working environment;
• Assisting other technicians as needed;
• Follow all Health and Safety policies, while maintaining s safe work environment;
• Other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

• Mechanical Experience: Knowledge of basic mechanical principles and experience doing preventative maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter changes, breaks, lines etc.
• Apprentice Mindset: A genuine interest in learning and developing new skills.
• Team Player: Ability to work effectively within a team environment with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and work with minimal supervision.
• Independent Worker: Ability to work independently with excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Endurance: Ability to perform heavy lifting regularly up to 50lbs.
• Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel.) Experience with Systematics and labor tracking systems would be an asset.
• Safety Focused: A strong commitment to safe work practices, environmental responsibility, and Battlefield’s health and safety policies.
• Customer Service Oriented: Excellent communication skills and a knack for making customers feel valued.
• Experience Operating Forklifts
• A technical understanding of CAT equipment would be considered an asset.
