Job description

Invicta Health has an exciting opportunity for an Prescriptions Clerk to join the team on a part time basis, 15 hours per week.

This role is fixed term for 1 year

Main duties of the job

As a PrescriptionClerk, you will act as the focal point of communication between the GPs,Receptionists, Practice Manager and Pharmacies to ensure patients repeatmedication is produced within the current protocols of the practice.

Job responsibilities

Main Responsibilities

Process repeat medication requests,dealing with any query scripts including adding, altering and printingthroughout the day.

Process Acute prescriptions withsupport from the GP and Pharmacists as and when required.

Expedite urgent prescriptions to helpensure a safe and responsive service for our Patients.

Develop and maintain an effectiveprocess to manage any prescription backlogs that may occur, escalating anyissues.

Liaise with patients, GPs, healthprofessionals and local Pharmacies regarding queries and requests ensuringtimely and correct resolution.

Answeringincoming telephone calls from chemists and patients, ensuring calls aredocumented and redirected accordingly during allocated time.

Keep up to date with medicationprotocols and ensure repeat medication is issued in line with these protocols.

Actively monitor QOF medicationreviews and requirements for patients and process accordingly.

Raise any concerns including misuseof drugs to the GP and follow up as necessary.

Distribute any safety alerts thatcome through to the relevant recipient in a timely manner.

Attend clinical meetings whererequired.

Ensureup-to-date maintenance of both computerised and manual filing systems (i.e.patient notes).

Assist withthe induction process for new starters with regards to prescriptions and theprocedures & protocols.

General Duties

Towork collaboratively and professionally with colleagues across Invicta Health,building and maintaining relationships.

Tocontribute to the development of services, including processes, templates andprinciples.

To take part in any statutory and mandatory trainingor other training and development programmes as requested.

Any other reasonable duties as directed by your linemanager.
