Workland in Quebec is seeking an assistant to support students with disabilities or learning difficulties in school activities. You will help with mobility, well-being, hygiene, and safety per the intervention plan.
You will assist teaching staff by supporting basic personal care, using educational materials, supervising during breaks, and helping students understand and follow school rules, ensuring a safe learning environment.
The principal and customary role of an employee in this job classification is to assist students with disabilities or learning difficulties in participating in activities related to their schooling. The employee supports students in their mobility, attends to their well-being, hygiene, and safety, in accordance with the instructions received as part of an intervention plan.
The employee supports teaching staff by helping students learn basic concepts related to personal hygiene, dressing, drinking, and eating. They assist students in using, or use on their behalf, the materials and equipment required for the preparation and implementation of educational and student activities. They supervise students during recess, lunch periods, nap time, and leisure activities. They help students understand and comply with school rules and instructions.
