Job summary
Powell Canada Inc. is seeking a Production Worker for Steel Fabrication within the Edmonton area. You will support the fabrication department, assist machine operators, and help assemble precision parts for Powell Canada products in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities include handling metal parts, operating lifting equipment, performing light maintenance, and upholding safety standards while contributing to quality and efficiency in daily operations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma required.
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily and weekly maintenance of metalworking machinery.
- Move parts between operations per routing.
- Load and unload steel or product from trucks (indoor/outdoor).
- Assist with shop and yard organization.
- Assist machine operators with tasks as directed.
- Remove finished parts from sheet metal skeletons.
- Finish metal parts using grinders or sanders.
- Sort and stack parts by part and job numbers.
- Assemble kits of parts to be welded.
- Operate pallet jack, forklift and cranes.
- Use general hand tools (hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches).
- Perform occasional painting, grinding or cleaning tasks as directed.
- Support safety culture and attend safety meetings.
- Ensure quality by following standard work instructions.
