Job summary

Evertz Microsystems in Burlington, Ontario is seeking an in-office PCB technician focused on soldering and rework. You will perform SMT and through-hole hand soldering, desoldering, and rework on populated boards, including fine-pitch components under a microscope.

You will read BOMs, ECOs, and drawings, follow PCB assembly processes, inspect solder joints, and support production with quality workmanship. This role offers a stable path, benefits, and a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with fine-pitch soldering using a microscope,
• Demonstrated experience reworking populated PCBs, including multi-pin components (BGAs, QFNs)
• Strong manual dexterity with speed, accuracy, and attention to detail
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation including schematics, ECOs, and BOMs
• Comfortable performing microscope-based soldering and rework for extended periods
• Solid understanding of PCB assembly, rework processes, and electronic manufacturing practices

Responsibilities

• Perform SMT and through-hole hand soldering in a production environment
• Execute soldering, desoldering, and rework on populated PCBs
• Rework and replace fine-pitch, QFN, and BGA components with proper techniques
• Use soldering irons, hot-air, microscopes, desoldering tools as required
• Read PCB drawings, BOMs, ECOs, and assembly/work instructions
• Follow PCB assembly processes and rework procedures
• Inspect workmanship under a microscope for solder joint quality and standards
• Perform other duties to support production and business objectives
