Job summary

A premier homebuilding company in Canada is seeking a Pre-Occupancy Technician on a 6-month contract. This role is pivotal in ensuring that homes reach the highest level of completion before turnover to homeowners. Responsibilities include conducting audits of construction homes, identifying technical issues, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Applicants must have at least 2 years experience in residential construction and strong computer skills, along with great interpersonal abilities.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of residential construction experience.
  • Clean driver's abstract and valid driver’s license.
  • Previous experience in finishing construction will be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Complete regular audits of under construction homes.
  • Identify and report any technical issues within the home.
  • Complete corrections on identified issues within the home.
  • Coordinate with the site manager for necessary corrections.
  • Work with the Customer Care team for post-possession items.

Averton is an experienced and award-winning homebuilder, community developer and construction management company and we’re looking to add a Pre-Occupancy Technician (6-month contract) to bring our homes to the highest level of completion.

This role will play a key part in Averton's continual commitment to our homeowner experience by ensuring that every detail is covered and our purchasers receive the best possible home.

Responsibilities
  • Complete regular audits of under construction homes at key milestone stages to identify and report on items to the site manager that need correction
  • Identify and report any technical issues within the home
  • Complete corrections on any identified issues within the home
  • Complete all items required to ensure the turn over of the home is completed to the fullest for turn over and possession
  • Communicate any deficiencies that require correction to the required contractor and complete scheduling and confirmation of work completion prior to possession
  • Identify and report contractor non-compliance with safety, health, environmental and quality standards
  • Work with the Customer Care team to coordinate entrance into homes post-possession to complete remaining items
  • Aid in service and warranty work as required from time to time
  • Operate light power tools on a daily basis to complete required assigned tasks from site managers
  • Standard working conditions will be on an active construction site daily, in site office for construction coordination as required, lifting and moving of materials regularly, and manual labour as required
