Job summary

SLR Consulting (Americas) is seeking a Team Leader – Ecology & Biodiversity for the Prairies region (Calgary/Edmonton, etc.). You will lead and develop the Prairies ecology team, balancing people leadership with project delivery, business development, and client engagement.

Reporting to the Practice Manager, you will shape regional growth and maintain high-quality environmental services. The role requires a minimum of 10 years of ecology experience, a relevant degree, and professional biology

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of ecology experience in environmental consulting.
• Experience leading teams and managing projects.
• Registration or eligibility for registration as a Professional Biologist (P. Biol.).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with clients and regulators.
• Knowledge of ecological practices and regulatory requirements across the Canadian Prairies.

Responsibilities

• Leads team resourcing and capacity planning across the Prairies Region.
• Mentors, coaches, and develops team members and oversees training plans.
• Supports market growth through client relationships and proposals.
• Manages multidisciplinary projects including scope, budget, and scheduling.
• Oversees technical reporting and regulatory submissions for provincial and federal legislation.
