The GO Expansion scope : new electric locomotives, fleet upgrades, train control systems, network electrification, signalling, telecommunications and digital systems, maintenance, and much more.

Alstom is seeking an Power Supply (POS) Traction Power SCADA Designer Lead. This individual will be responsible for delivering TP SCADA and Protection Design submissions.

Responsibilities

  • Review basic and detailed design TP SCADA and Protection drawings and documentsfor the project, that will be delivered by the TP SCADA Techno Partner,
  • Align and coordinate all TP SCADA and Protection Deliverables to facilitate a smooth integration at the NOC (Network Control Centre) and BRC (Business Resume Centre), in relation with the System teams but also with Partners and Client and Operator,
  • Integrate Technical Interface requirements from internal and external stakeholders, especially with Signalling SCADA teams,
  • Establish required interfaces drawings and specifications for interface management purpose
  • Provide support on TP SCADA and Protection POS topics to System Engineering team
  • Technical interface with Customer to define requirements at NOC and BRC
  • Definition of Design inputs required to progress
  • Bill of Quantities (BOQ) elaboration, review and update
  • Participate in collecting REX on POS design
  • Deep and exhausitve reviews of TP SCADA Techno Partnerdesign submissions and ensure technical compliance (incl. suppliers BIM deliverables)
  • Sign Off on Alstom deliverables related to TP SCADA and Protection

The POS team is mainly composed of on-shore located in Toronto, Canada, and off-shore part located in St-Ouen, France and Mexico.

Reporting

This position will report to the POS Design Lead.

This position will manage a team of 1-2 person and a major subcontractor

The candidate will liaise with:

  • Engineering: Central Engineering and Transverse Engineering team
  • Project: Project management team
  • Site: Construction management team
  • Customer, Consultants, External stakeholders
  • Civil Works and Track works partners
  • Interfacing sub-systems (Rolling Stock, Trackwork, OCS, Signalling, Civil works)
  • Regional Centers

Performance Measurements

  • Respect of performances of the system provided: 100%.

Educational Requirements

Mandatory:

  • Bachelor's Degree of Science in Engineering, Computer Science or scientific subjects
  • Already succesfully delivered full SCADA System design, until final comissioning
  • Professional Engineer (PEng)
  • Master's Degree in Project Management

Experience

  • A minimum of six-seven years of experience in SCADA engineering,
  • A first experience in Protection Design for substationsproject is preferred
  • Experience in collaborating with System Operatoris preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Canada standards and common practices
  • Autonomy, motivated, initiative, innovative, team spirit
  • SCADA technical analysis skills
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity measures and best practices for SCADA systems to ensure system integrity and data protection.
  • Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, and project managers, to facilitate successful project execution.
