Job summary

Weir Minerals in Surrey, BC is seeking a Day Shift Rubber Liner to safely apply rubber lining on product surfaces, read drawings, and prepare components for lining. This onsite role runs Monday to Friday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, with emphasis on quality and safety in a hands-on environment.

Responsibilities include operating autoclaves, following blueprints, handling materials, and maintaining records, while contributing to a world-class safety culture and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a hands on, manual labor type role.
  • Basic knowledge of hand and measuring tools.
  • Thorough knowledge of reading and understanding blueprints.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare Product: Prepare pipes and hoses for application of rubber lining by rolling or painting interior surfaces after the sandblasting operation has been completed
  • Rubber Lining: Apply rubber to interior surfaces by following instructions, drawings and sketches provided
  • Oversee Autoclaves: Operate and monitor the Autoclave for the rubber curing process. Complete and maintain all records including autoclave logs, charts, material movements, and material consumptions to the jobs and provide reports as required
  • Read Blueprint Drawings: Use a layout table to lay out rubber components according to the specified drawings that will dictate tolerances on a blueprint drawing
  • Material Handling: Loading, unloading, and handling of material within the facility as required (mechanical & manually handling)
  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.

Purpose of Role:

The Rubber Liner will carry out rubber lining processes according to standard safety procedures. They will be responsible for reading blueprints and drawings to achieve accuracy with laying, lining, and applying rubber on product.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

Compensation -

$36.51/hr +
