Job summary

BIOVECTRA, now a part of Agilent, seeks a power engineering professional to operate and maintain boilers, chillers, HVAC and PLC systems. You will work rotating 12-hour shifts, two weeks of days followed by two weeks of nights, ensuring safe, efficient operations across plant systems.

The role requires 1–3 years in a similar maintenance role, a 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate, and good communication skills. CMMS knowledge and familiarity with cGMP are a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate is required.
• 3rd Class Power Engineering Certificate preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience maintaining boilers, chillers, HVAC and PLC systems.

Responsibilities

• Rotating 12-hour shifts: two weeks days, two weeks nights.
• Operate and maintain boilers, chillers, HVAC, and related equipment.
• Monitor and control systems for safe, efficient operation.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment to minimize downtime.
• Keep accurate logs of operations, maintenance and repairs.
• Conduct water testing on water systems.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with maintenance, production and engineering teams.
• Respond to alarms and emergencies and take corrective action.
• Assist with equipment upgrades, installations, and modifications.
• Properly handle and dispose of hazardous materials.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Rotating Shift work. 12 hour shifts, two weeks of days followed by two weeks of nights

• Operating and maintaining various stationary equipment, including boilers, chillers, air compressors, and HVAC systems

• Monitoring and controlling all systems and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations during the shift

• Performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance of systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance

• Troubleshooting and repairing equipment malfunctions as necessary to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operations

• Maintaining accurate logs of all system operations, maintenance activities, and repairs

• Performing appropriate water tests on water systems

• Ensuring compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards

• Collaborating with other departments, including maintenance, production, and engineering, to support operational goals

• Responding to emergency situations, alarms, and system failures and take appropriate action to resolve issues

• Assisting with equipment upgrades, installations, and modifications as needed

• Ensuring the proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials in accordance with safety protocols

Qualifications

Required:

• Minimum 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate
• 3rd Class Power Engineering Certificate preferred
• Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a similar role: maintaining boilers, chillers, HVAC and PLC Systems

Desired:

• Good oral and written communication skills
• Knowledge of cGMP guidelines
• Millwright, Electrical, Electro-mechanical or plumbing training
• Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) knowledge

Additional Details

This job has a full time weekly schedule.

The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $23.88 - $41.79/hr CAD
